Lol! I distinctly remember when my grandmother was 99 and went to visit her sister-in-law who was only in her early 90's. What sticks out in my mind is the moment when her sister-in-law said LOUDLY in a fake whisper "I bet she colors her hair".
You've never seen gentle God-fearing-women so close to physical violence. Over hair-color. Because heaven-forbid someone think they were old enough to need dye. At 99! And she'd get cranky if you suggested she was even one year older than she actually was.
That was my mother's mother. Usually, a charming woman. But its still a good thing I take after my father's mother ;)
