A Brief Vacation from Blogging

I need to lower my blood pressure— not literally speaking, but figuratively. It's not over anything big. But I'm going to be taking a brief break from blogging, and from the blogosphere. For the next week or so, my presence here on my blog, and over yonder on your blog, will be somewhere between minimal and nil.

If anyone really wants to honk at me, I'll be checking my email as usual. Or a few of you know how to reach me by chat.

See you in seven days, plus/minus.

Sigh. Yeah, I'm on hiatus too. Except in my case its because I gave my tech guy (Admiral Quixote)a hard time about his disfunctional comments and he tried to fix them and did bad things to his server. Which put ME on hiatus because he hosts my site.

Man! And I had such a good post inspired by you all ready to go about "real" food.

Yeah, I tried to leave a comment on your blog the other day, and I got an error message.

In my case, the brief hiatus follows from a minor dust-up with another blogger. I'm still convinced he's a good decent fellow, and one of the the good guys; but honestly, he really ought to have thought twice before posting a throwaway comment, a snarky vaguely mean-spirited comment, on my blog.

Not that my response to him was exactly a model of warmth, either; not that I was snarky in return, more like "correct but extremely chilly." I feel badly in hindsight about how I treated him, and since I trust he has a conscience, I'm sure he feels badly in hindsight about how he treated me.

Oh well. I've already offered my apologies, nothing more I can do than that. I see Blogger has recently added a comment moderation feature, each comment has to be approved by me before it will appear, rather like what you've got on your blog— an incident like this almost convinces me to activate comment moderation, not that I would've needed it more than four or five times in these past 15 months. In the meanwhile, I just need to get away from the blogosphere for a few days, and cool off down below the boiling point.

Though in that case, what am I doing, posting a comment here on my own blog?! Burgess, get away from your computer, go and make lunch, or something...

A lunch of real food, of course! :-)

I had the same comment policy added to my name.

I am concerned. I keep thinking about the Good Shepherd that will go out to the one sheep that has strayed.

Posts are extremely long and can be very offensive.

You enjoy your time off and I will be back.

God Bless You Good Shepherd!

Ummmm, I'm not exactly sure I understand what you're saying, but I take it that's one vote against comment moderation?

Which, by coincidence, I activated on this Friday morning apparently only minutes before you submitted your comment.

Actually, comment moderation is all-or-nothing. I can't apply it to individual names or individual commenters. Once I turn it on, comment moderation applies across the board to all comments from all commenters, with the sole exception of comments from myself.

Well, anyhow, welcome, and do drop by again!
