Do you know about Engrish?
Fran, thanks for the link! My first encounter with Japanese English came when I was a kid, and got one of those bobbing toy birds which would bob over with its beak, again and again, into a glass of water. The instructions explained that once you got it moving, "the bird will keep keep drinking."
