Up at the Storyblogging Carnival

The 64th Storyblogging Carnival is up this morning at Dean's World. And among the stories entered is my own short story, Skeetchee.

Various and wondrous are the forms intelligent life may assume. On a far distant world, Skeetchee flies through the morning sky on thousands of wings...

Yeah, I thought I'd see if I could get some more exposure for Skeetchee.

Actually, I've got several new short stories bubbling in my head. Some of them have been brewing for a long time now. One, set in Iowa in an alternate history, involved a fair amount of historical research here locally. But it's a matter of finding the time to write these stories down, and then go back and do some kind of second-draft editing on them. My stories are typically the most labor-intensive of my blog posts.

I also have been wanting for some time to set up categories on my blog— "fiction," "rants," "games," "dreams," etc. Maybe I should see if the tagging or "label" capability of New Blogger could be harnessed to simplify this.
