One Wool Blanket Is Enough

Well, I think we're getting to the time of year when I could dispense with one of the two wool blankets on my bed. Don't you think? Don't you think I could take one of those blankets, and fold it up and store it away in the cedar chest until colder weather arrives again next fall?

And make do for the summer with only one wool blanket?

I'd say it depends on the wool blanket. There are some lovely light-weight suit-wool blankets.

Hmmm. But you have the heavy weight ones. I bet two are super-heavy. That makes me think of a blog I've read that has a daughter who has intense sensory complexities and part of what makes her calm/happy is a heavy weight like that.

Yeah, one is a Hudson's Bay Company Point blanket, and the other is a Swiss Army blanket. Both heavy.

I had a special blanket as a kid, but it wasn't wool, or anything like wool.

It's odd. The key factor for me is, unless it's extremely hot at night— like, up in the 80s— I really don't care to be cool when I'm sleeping. It's as though I turn cold-blooded at night. Thus, end of May, I can still sleep comfortably in the warmth of two heavy wool blankets.
